Being Intentional in Service

Supported by Cane Island Katy Inc. and other Texas based nonprofits, our mandate is serving the Greater Katy, Fort Bend County, and West Houston, Texas community. We are one of only three LGBTQIA+ specialty Lions Clubs out of the nearly fifty thousand chapters worldwide, and the only one focused on advocacy and awareness.

About the Club

Officially the Fort Bend County West Lions Club, and doing business in Texas as the Katy Lions Club and Fort Bend West Houston Lions Club, we are a nonprofit community service association based in Katy, Texas. With a strong membership base, we are dedicated to making a positive impact in our local community.

Through various initiatives and projects, we strive to address the needs of our community and improve the lives of those in need. Our dedicated members work tirelessly to support causes related to childhood cancer, diabetes, disaster relief, the environment, humanitarian endeavors, reducing hunger, vision, youth, and social welfare. Join us in our mission to create a better future for our neighbors.

Charities, Initiatives, Programs, and Partners

Working with Cane Island Katy, we provide scholarships and humanitarian support to our community.

In our ever-connected world, we often find ourselves disconnected from what truly grounds us. Diversely Outdoors, teaches that nature has the power to heal, inspire, and empower by offering experiences that foster a sense of belonging, self-discovery, and connection to the world around us.

In partnership with VSP Eyes of Hope, we meet the critical need of providing glasses to our low-income neighbors. We provide those who meet the eligibility criteria eye exams and glasses. The program is designed to provide glasses at no cost to them.

Fort Bend County Pride strives to build social awareness, embrace spirituality, and celebrate the diversity within our community. Through embracing diversity, uplifting the community, and advocating for social change, Fort Bend County Pride aims to create a more inclusive and equal society.

Gender Affirming Aftercare Group is a Trans owned and the only medical group with a total concentration on providing exceptional Trans, Non-Binary support with peer counselors, friendly doctor referrals, national and local resources, support groups to enjoy your experience in your affirmed gender.

In support of Hope Impacts, we organize an annual clothing drive in the offseason and as needed to supplement their inventory of socks, underwear, pants, and more. Through this partnership, situationally homeless people are given a sense of dignity and wellbeing through meals, showers, laundry services, counseling, and more.

Working with the Katy Heritage Society, we provide a second $1000 Adult Continuing in the Workforce Scholarship. Lifelong learning should be accessible to all, and this unique scholarship promotes the City of Katy and our unique history while providing a platform for adults to gain professional education.

Working with our partners in the Katy Independent School District, we sponsor 17 individual contests for the largest art competition in the world. We are also sponsoring 17 contests for the biggest essay competition in the State of Texas.

We collect toys in throughout the year to take to the Katy Police Department for their domestic violence response unit and holiday toy drive.

The mission of LCIF is to empower Lions clubs, volunteers, and partners to improve health and well-being, strengthen communities, and support those in need through humanitarian services and grants that impact lives globally, and encourage peace and international understanding. Our club directly supports LCIF.

MESA Outreach welcomes neighbors in need. They are focused on helping the children in our community by providing basic needs and programs that will help to improve the quality of their future. By helping each other, we build a stronger community.

The Neighborhood Garden Project is a community garden giving families the opportunity to grow food by helping remove common suburban obstacles - primarily the lack of adequate space and sufficient sunlight. The project caters to all ages and abilities, providing a safe space to learn and experience.

SEAT is a movement of young people developing transferable skills and demonstrating youth visibility in policymaking. By engaging in constructive action with active engagement in hands-on opportunities of advocacy and education, they're creating a vehicle for driving civic transformation as we build a social movement for bettering our communities and dismantling oppressive power structures.

Texas Lions Foundation concentrates its efforts in two areas: humanitarian services and disaster relief. The Foundation strives to support projects that, while falling into one of these two categories, also have long-term and far reaching effects, and promote the objectives of the Texas Lions Foundation. 

The Transparent Closet is a free clothing boutique designed for trans and exploring teens, youth, and young adults to have a safe space for clothing needs and beyond. The Closet is a welcoming space with clothes, undergarments, binders, hair and style accessories, make-up, and more.
